Bluebell -AVAILABLE!-

Bluebell is about 3 years old and 85 pounds and a gorgeous silver Lab/Staffie mix. She has a gentle, serene and friendly temperament and loves people and children, big dogs and little dogs, but no cats, please. She takes squirrel patrol seriously so will need a solid 6ft fence to keep her safe. Bluebell is a smart young lady and is spayed, vaccinated, HW-, microchipped, crate-trained and though she initially had seizures at the shelter after being abandoned by her owner, she has done well on her twice-daily medication regimen that she gets with meals. She's an easygoing lady who would like her own folks to snuggle up with evenings. She is crate and house trained and enjoys swimming. To bring this calm lover into your life, please apply online at www.AFFTexas.org

Dolly -AVAILABLE!-

Dolly is a gorgeous brown and golden brindle girl about 2-3 years old. She has a gentle, sweet temperament and her best friend is Stallone. She is house trained and has nice manners so she is not crated; she and Stallone can be trusted loose together. She likes to curl up and snuggle with you, chase after balls and frisbees, and watch the yard for squirrels as she sunbathes. She is a little shy and needs a slow introduction with new dogs but does great in her pack of five fosters. Dolly has very velvety fur that does not shed and is a smart, sweet youngster who is eager to learn and please. She is fully vetted, microchipped, spayed, heartworm negative and has nice house and car manners. To bring this darling into your life, apply at www.AFFTexas.org

Georgia -AVAILABLE!-

Sweet Georgia Brown is a smaller youngster maybe 8 months old and is now fully vetted, HW- and microchipped and spayed and looking for another home with lots of opportunities to play and snuggle. She loves kids and other dogs; we don't know about cats. Dallas area. Apply online at www.AFFtexas.org

Dunn -AVAILABLE!-

Dunn is just one awesome personality. He's about 3-4 years old and fully vaccinated, neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped and crate-trained. Dunn loves all people and other dogs and is a very social boy who loves nothing more than getting in the car to go new places and meet new people and other dogs of all sizes and inviting them to play and share his infectious joy for living. Dunn has had seizures in the past that are now controlled with daily medication. It's a very small effort and the enormous pleasure Dunn brings to the world around him is very well worth it. Dunn would like best to be in an active home with a lot going on or where he could come to work with his people. To make Dunn part of your life, apply online at www.AFFTexas.org

Beanie -ADOPTED!-

Sweet little Beanie was emaciated and very frail weighing in at only 17 lbs at 7 months old. She had a skin infection and sores all over her body due to neglect. Her little neck was so small that a collar that had been worn by a 7 lb chihuahua was big enough to fit her. Despite her condition, she was very loving and friendly.

Bunny -ADOPTED!-

Bunny is maybe 2-3 years old, about 40 pounds, and just a delightful little jellybean. She has soft, fluffy brindle fur and ears that stand up and curl forward at the tips; we found her DNA says she is a mix of miniature English bull terrier and plotthound. She has a small, stocky body and loves to play and snuggle, though she is good at amusing herself. She is spayed and fully vetted, HW-, microchipped, rests quietly in her crate, and is ready to add a lot of love to your home. Bunny loves people and enjoys playing with the other five dogs in her group. Probably dogs her own size and no cats would be best. To make this fun sweetie your own, please apply online at www.AFFTexas.org

Dottie -ADOPTED!-

Dottie is about 3-1/2 years old and a SWEET girl, that just loves people of all ages. She is a Staffordshire Terrier, Mastiff and French Bulldog mix. She is about 55 lbs. Dottie was abandoned with 9 newborn puppies in September 2013. She was great mom to her babies, who have all since been adopted, so she is now looking for a home of her own. Dottie has been in foster care for almost two years! Dottie is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, house and crate-trained, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative. She loves riding in the car, and playing with tennis balls and squeaky toys. Dottie is fearful of other dogs, so she's probably best in a home without other dogs, unless the adopter is committed to working with a professional trainer we can suggest to best ensure a smooth introduction and transition. To make her your own, apply at www.AFFTexas.org.

Jewel -ADOPTED!-

Jewel is a tiny girl, just 40 pounds, but a huge cuddlebug with the softest, velvety silver fur with fawn stripes. She is a sweetly silly goofball who loves to play with the other dogs or just gnaw on a bone peacefully near you. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, HW- and housetrained. Jewel is about three years old and isn't getting any larger. You can apply to make this little sweetie your very own at www.AFFTexas.org

Kobe -ADOPTED!-

Kobe is a gentle soul about 5 years old. He's neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He's friendly with dogs of all sizes and would like a fairly quiet home where he can keep you company and take ambling walks with you (his leash manners are a pleasure) and then curl up on the couch at your side. His sweetness can't be overstated and photos never do justice to this handsome gentleman. To bring Kobe's gentle love into your life, apply online at www.afftx.org

Loki -ADOPTED!-

Loki is a beautiful 2 year old 50lb Husky/Golden mix who is friendly with other dogs and cats. He is shy, timid and suffers from PTSD from an abusive past. The perfect fit for him would be a nice quiet home. He loves women, but feels intimidated around men. His best fit would be a home with women or a very calm and soft spoken man, no children except older, respectful kids. He is crate trained, but could easily free roam without issue. LOKI DOES NOT WANT TO BE THE ONLY DOG IN THE HOME. He will require a home with other dogs and a savvy owner that understands to let Loki come for cuddles and not press him before he's ready. Loki is neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped, housetrained and heartworm negative. Please apply online at www.AFFTexas.org

Harvey -ADOPTED!-

Molly

Molly is a beautiful athlete who loves everyone: big dogs, little dogs, cats, kids, and adults. She has a velvety blue-fawn brindle coat and loves to play hard outdoors and curl up to snuggle with you indoors. Molly is a very cheerful and happy girl, eager to learn, housetrained, crate-trained, well-behaved in the car and loves going places to meet and make new friends. She is about 55 pounds, 3 years old, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, spayed, and microchipped. To make this joyful girl part of your life, apply online at www.AFFTexas.org

Muffin

Muffin is almost 9 months old (DOB 11/01/14) and just the sweetest dog ever. Loves everyone, dogs, cats, kids. She is fully vetted, spayed, micro-chipped, on Flea/HW preventative and is just perfect in every way. She passed her obedience course with flying colors and her trainer said she was an amazing girl and had she been available when she was looking to adopt, she would have adopted her in a heartbeat. She has been in rescue since she was abandoned at 6 weeks old. Help us help her find her most perfect family. Adopters must be local to the DFW area. www.afftexas.org

Remy

Riley

Riley isn't just a young beauty, she's sweet and smart, too! Riley likes playing with her dog friends and prefers males and submissive females. She loves children and adults alike and has the energy to keep up with an active family. Riley enjoys car rides, romps in the yard, and snuggling with her people. Riley is 3 years old and fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, spayed, microchipped, house trained, and crate-trained. To make this happy darling your very own, apply online at www.AFFTexas.org.

Sawyer

Sawyer is a 5 year old male Boxer/Staffordshire Terrier mix. He was surrendered to the shelter when his owner became terminally ill and could no longer care for him. Sawyer loves playing fetch with tennis balls and he LOVES toys that squeak. He is a sweet boy who loves to snuggle and give kisses. He has the typical Boxer personality. He's a huge lovebug! He enjoys long walks, riding in the car, and splashing around in the water at the lake and the pool (he's not too fond of actually swimming, although he is a good swimmer). He gets along well with female dogs but is selective about males and he is playful but gentle with cats and kids. He has a lot of energy, and is a strong boy, so a house with small children probably isn't advisable. He has wonderful leash manners, but gets super excited when he sees squirrels and rabbits. He thinks he is a big lap dog and will lay next to you on the couch to get his belly rubbed. Sawyer discovered how to climb the chain link run at the shelter, so a backyard with at least a 6 foot solid wood or wrought iron fence, or a stone wall would be best. Sawyer will thrive best with an active family who would include him as part of their day-to-day routine. He is not happy sitting in a crate; he wants to be with his people. Sawyer is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, housetrained, crate trained and heartworm negative. He is current on heartworm and flea preventative and all of his vaccines are current. He currently weighs approximately 60 lbs and is healthy and ready for his very own forever home. To make Sawyer part of your family, apply online at www.AFFTexas.org.

Spice

Bio written by Mary, the good samaritan who found Spice. Spice was found on June 29th 2014 running in the street at Lake Benbrook with his friend Sugar. They were not chipped. No collars. Neither had been spayed or neutered. And they were both heartworm positive. They have been spayed and neutered. And Sugar is with a foster and has received her heartworm treatment. Spice has been neutered but has not been healthy enough for heartworm treatment yet. Spice has had some neurological issues. The vet suspects he may have an injury in his spine. He is not aggressive but can be reactive with more boisterous dogs. He spent a month in boarding and lost ten pounds due to stress. He was neglected and possibly abused before we found him. He was covered in motor oil. His teeth are ground down from possibly having a penchant for chewing rocks and other objects. The vet estimated his age to be around 4 years. He is very loving. Loves to play ball. And very eager to please his human. We initially took him to Benbrook animal control and they held him for 72 hours and they were going to release to HSNT. Who told me they would be euthanized. We decided we would try to help them. My fosters and personal dogs rejected him and it caused him great stress. I believe with the right foster or adopter he could live a long happy life. Applications to foster to adopt Spice can be found on our website www.afftexas.org

Stallone

Stallone is yet another dog to come to us after the rescue that "saved" him didn't care to keep him safe (he is another MARS dog). He was facing death again in a shelter for no fault of his own. Stallone is a very handsome Shepherd boy about 4 years old and 60 pounds. He is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and is now HW-. Stallone is simply gorgeous. He has plush fur that sheds very little and loves playing ball, chasing frisbees, gently snuggling with you, and rides calmly in the car. He is very affectionate and really wants his own human to be with and another respectful dog to play and run with (Dolly is his best pal). Stallone has been fine with other dogs of both sexes but is no cats, please. He is calm in his crate even when other dogs get excited and bark, but his manners are so nice that he and Dolly have the honor of being loose together 24/7. He does not tear up his toys, stands still in the bath, and is loves learning and then showing off commands. Stallone is smart and wants to please his special people, and he especially loves women! Could that be you? Please apply online at www.AFFTexas.org
